I'm not really wishing to add fuel to the fire about the whole Blu-Ray vs. DVD thing, but has anyone noticed that Disney seems to be walking away from their usual format of offering us a Blu-Ray version with all the extras along with the bare-bones DVD copy? Since I have decided to hedge my bets by ...

I was listening to Magical Definition Podcast and Jim Hill was saying that the film is doing wonderfully and the numbers will be similar to that seen for Nemo. Also he said that 60% of the domestic box office take so far was made from the sales of 3-D tickets to up. Hooray for 3-D! I was also wonder...

Re: Up Goers: Name Location/What Teasers/If Partly Cloudly S
A) Was it the 3D version, digital showing, or 2D? B) Did they show "Partly Cloudy"? C) Did they show the trailer for "The Princess and the Frog"? D) Did they show the teaser for "Toy Story 3"? I saw it in Glendale, CA at the Mann Theater in 3-D twice; once opening week...

Can you give me 1 good reason why Disney would release 2 of the exact same products in different packaging? (2-disc Blu Ray + 1 disc dvd)? That would be just silly. Because Disney has seen all 49 pages of this thread and they are catering to UD members for more and better slip covers, of course! :D...

In recent years there have been many films distributed by Disney or one of its subsidiaries. I'm not sure why this one has become an issue with some here. It's a new way to bring great filmmaking to a different audience. If you've seen it before, and don't wish to see it again in this format than t...

You could just buy the DVD + Blu-ray...you'll be getting a DVD case instead of a Blu-ray case, but you'll still be getting Blu-ray and the nicer cover. Oh my gosh, thank you Amy, I think I've finally got it! Hold on.... you mean one of the DVD options is: a 2-disc DVD plus just the movie on a blue-...

That was the set I orignally wanted...but do I need dolls? I dunno they would be cool but I'm not so sure. I need them! I was deprived of the Seven Dwarfs in Christmas 1989 (bloody toy horse...), but not this time! Christmas 2009 I will get what's rightfully mine!   Ok, so what is t...

Peter And The Wolf is on Make Mine Music. Johnny Appleseed is on Melody Time. Thank you JDCB1986 and Daisy Duck - Great, because I already have Make Mine Music and Melody Time on DVD (so why didn't i know that then? Because they are still in shrink wrap. Long story about not having free time etc to...

Well, next to SW this is my favorite Disney film. It is the only film that I have purchased for all of my nephews and nieces. Usually you can pick this up pretty cheap (like $14) from places like Discount DVD etc. I do have a question - someone here mentioned Johnny Appleseed. I recall seeing the &q...

Thanks for the clear up. No problem. :) That is extremely odd and lame. Why would anyone care if it's in DVD or Bluray packaging. Perhaps because the Blu-Ray packaging doesn't match up well on a DVD shelf, and there are some anal-retentive fans out there who want the cases to be uniform. The DVD pa...

Pluto Region1!!! You’re back!!! Hooray! :) I own the bootleg DVD version I didn’t know that there was a non-Platinum Edition SW bootleg…what bonus features are on it? I’m not planning on seeking it out, but I’m curious! Hi BC! No, actually what I got was a bootleg of the Platinum Edition. I don't k...

It's like watching the Criterion DVD of Silence of the Lambs versus the MGM DVD. The former was supervised by the cinematographer and so his colour timings and hues are used the way they were intended despite the actual transfer being non-anamorphic and a bit grainy. The MGM one is sharper and clea...

The only reason Blu Ray fans get so hostile is because the DVD only users are the ones who keep bringing it up. Which is why I said I blame everyone :) (Including myself) It's a vicious circle that can be ended if one side just ignores the other when the subject comes up. So dvd only users bring it...

It's a genius marketing move. They'll be promoting Snow White as coming to Blu-Ray and DVD in fourth quarter, with the big push being on Blu-Ray. Then, instead of just having the marketing for the title fizzle out in the weeks after its release, they have a whole seven-week interim between the Blu-...

Wow, I can always count on the UDers to get into a good discussion. Just found out about the SW going to Blu-Ray. There's 32 pages in this thread for me to catch up on so I start here on page 32 and see you guys arguing about the merits of the entire format. What concerns me is that I decided this t...
