Charming movie
Thanks for posting that, Disney Guru. I definitely have to watch Blackbeard again, sometime soon! I was probably too young to get to see it at the movies - at least I didn't see it when it came out - but I remember reading a Disney comic book where the story was told in stills from the movie (as I r...

Blackbeard's Ghost?
I noticed that somebody said earlier in this thread that there was a widescreen version of Blackbeard's Ghost available somewhere? Listen, I don't care if I have to order it from Antarctis - ANYTHING would be better than the R1 release! So, does anyone have specs on region, good on-line store, etc? ...

Dear PeterPanFan and Ariel's Prince; as I said in the first posting, I am aware that Robots is not a Disney movie, and that any discussion of it should hence be in the off-topic section. However, I did not particularly want to discuss the movie Robots, but rather the parallells to Disney, Disney mov...

Robots?
Yes, I know Robots isn't a Disney movie, but bear with me: I finally got around to watching this pretty decent CGI-animated feature ("From the makers of Ice Age") and enjoyed it. But throughout the whole movie I kept drawing parallells between the plot and a certain global entertainment co...

I agree
I just saw Ratatouille last night, and I totally agree with all the rave reviews previously posted. In my book, it was better than The Incredibles, and that's almost ... well, incredible. It's a lovely story which I'm sure we'll be watching twenty years from now. And the animation is fantastic. And ...

What a question!
Of course I'll get them all - even though I doubt I'll be watching much Oswald this Christmas. But I'm really looking forward to the other two.

Simba3
I agree with Simba3. Every Disney sequel/prequel I've had the misfortune to watch has been atrocious, almost like it came from another company. All of the Disney magic is just gone. They only feel like the pitiful attempt of small minds to make more money off the ideas of geniuses. So my answer woul...

Tough decision ...
... but I'd have to go with the archive material. I find myself returning to those more often than any other Treasures (and I have them all):
1) Behind the scenes at the Walt Disney Studio
2) Disneyland, USA
3) Your Host, Walt Disney
4) On the Front Lines

Wow!
That IS good news. I have all the old (gold edition?) releases, but new transfers would be most welcome. And if they include the bonus material that Escapay mentions from the LD release, I'll definitely get them all. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll get them all, no matter what they include.

Lion King, because ...
The Lion King is probably the most overrated, not because it's the worst movie but because corporate hype and public opinion built it up as something it's not. It's a pretty decent picture, but a timeless classic it's not.

Animated
I agree with stitcharielbeast. The word "Animated" can mean many things, and it's hard to claim that it absolutely cannot apply to CGI. Still, it might just as well be used to describe my state of mind when I followed the shutting down of Disney's legendary 2D-department. Although it would...

... Hopefully I'll be able to find a job in the industry, hopefully at Disney, but I wouldn't mind working at another DVD place, such as Warner Bros. Home Video. I'd love to work there, choosing the DVDs that get released, making the cover art, choosing the release date and the bonus features ... J...

Tough call
George, that's a question which doesn't seem to have a simple answer. I have all three sets that you mention, and if I had to choose ... I would pick all three. Serieously, the Fantasia set is a vital part of any Animated Classics collection, if you're into that. Out of the two Treasures, I probably...
