Re: Disney's last politically incorrect movie?
...Anyway.
Most films have some kind of problematic narrative/devices, but I'm not entirely sure that makes them "politically incorrect movies". Maybe Pocahontas.

Re: Frozen: Part V
Looking forward to it. If anything, it should air on Thanksgiving or November 27th. This seems random. I'm guessing "the exciting announcement" will be either the Arendelle area in Epcot or the book series. I don't think the book series is special enough for that kind of announcement...

Re: Disney Animation on Blu-ray in 2014
Guys, do you plan on abandoning physical media soon and only buy Digital HD copies? Or are you skicking to blurays for now? Just curious! I would hate to abandon my ever-growing physical library, but if they keep up these lousy releases with no bonus features and awful cover art, I don't see why I ...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?
But of course, if the movies are as well-written and original as Wreck-It-Ralph, modern nostalgia-heavy musicals like Frozen, and as exciting and funny as Big Hero 6 looks, we might not even demand it as much anymore. Face it, the last Disney CGI attempts have been more than solid. Even Tangled has...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?
...2D is not "banned"! They're just not making any at the moment. And although I think "coward" is a strong word, I do think they're full of it. Disney wants money and 3D is what is popular right now. People with kids today grew up with 2D and most likely see it as a children's m...

Re: Frozen: Part V
They did, though. His older brothers would inherit any and all power before he would and he wanted to have a kingdom of his own. Heck, during Love is an Open Door he is pretty much giving his bad guy monologue. Villains don't have to have a motive, it's what makes them evil. Why did Cruella want the...

Re: Lion King spin-off "The Lion Guard' to air on Disney Jun
Timon and Pumbaa for all intents and purposes was more centered around Looney Tunes sort of humor and not real grounded to the world of The Lion King we saw in the movie at all. I wonder if Kovu will pop up anytime in this series.    :D :D :D :D I HADN'T EVEN THOUGHT AB...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Plus, there is that episode where they go on land and they are live-action toy versions of themselves on sticks. I thought that was clever. Maybe they did that joke twice then because I don't remember them being toys. Wasn't SpongeBob just a household washing up sp...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?
Still, being a supposed sequel to the first movie, it still doesn't match up with what happened in the last one because when SpongeBob and Patrick were on land in that one they were still hand-drawn characters. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Plus, there is that episode where they go on land and ...

Well, said! What do you mean "Well, said"? I won't accept that for an excuse. Well, then we don't know what to tell you. It's such a sad thing to say but we already have 2D films and we have seen where they can go. It's a beautiful art form, but right now, people are just not payin...

Re: Frozen: Part V
Plus %98 of anything Frozen I've seen on Tumblr (I barely follow Disney blogs) love Frozen. One guy on my dash has brought up the shortcomings on the film and I agree with the points he made. Tumblr is pretty great if you follow the right people, just like Twitter and other social media websites.

Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts
So you can't enjoy good writing in animation, just a specific art design? What I'm saying is, I can't enjoy whatever writing is in a cartoon if there isn't good art to go with it. You can't just count on writing all the time to make cartoons good, because then cartoonists would just never put as mu...

Why not? They're Disney, they're princesses. I don't see the problem. And you guys need to stop saying "Disney hates hand-drawn!!" ( I swear, a certain thread in this forum has made me hate the term "hand-drawn"). Animation is just going through a fad because all animated hits fo...

Re: Disney Channel planning Boy Meets World sequel series
The fact that they felt the need to make a summer remix really put me off as to what kind of promo this show is calling for, but the actual song is kind of perfect. I've been really keeping my comments to myself about this show, but why is this automatically a "RAGE IT'S JUST LIKE ALL DISNEY CH...

I am a lot more surprised at how much Winnie The Pooh merch makes, I feel like I have seen so little merchandise out there in years and it used to be everywhere. Like Hello Kitty everywhere.

Wow. That was quick: Elsa is the next villain in OUAT I reaaally dislike that show. It's like a Tumblr fan fiction blog; I swear, they're throwing in Star Wars characters soon. Well, we all knew it was coming. I'm surprised it took this long and I'm surprised they didn't make her good to completely...

Re: Frozen: Part V
It's a race issue, and also a culturall one I think. Most of Disney Princess customers (at least, the ones who aren't fanatic Disnerd activists) are middle class white little girls, who have grown up in this My Little Pony/Barbie catered entertainment, and for them the "true" princess ima...
