Looking for Toy Story 2 Special Edition 2005

Hey all, I am looking for a copy of the 2005 2-disc edition of Toy Story 2 and am a little weary of Amazon Marketplace for fear of running into bootlegs, so thought I might check and see if any forum members had one they'd be willing to part with (perhaps if you upgraded to the Blu-ray or something....

A Blu-ray of this one would be nice but considering its status, they probably won't get around to releasing it on Blu until almot everything else in their animated catalog has been put out first. Given that the Platinums (er, Diamonds) and Dumbo are the only titles so far confirmed for Blu release ,...

I read somewhere that Depp's ontract is a loose deal which is contingent on script approval - so hypothetically he could still not do it, provided that he doesn't like the scipt (or waits until the script is delivered to withdrawl.)

I'm sure that's because they are matching Target's price on it (which I wish they would do on the Golden Girls sets, since my store only had seasons 2 and 7 when I looked.) Their pre-order price guarentee does work and I have been refunded money because of it before...but they will give it to you if...

I'd expect Ponyo no earlier than mid-December, and it may even be smart to position it on December 26 (like the Toy Story 2 re-release was) to get it a little out of the way of the fourth quarter glut and instead take advantage of post-Christmas gift card spending. I'm really surprised about the rei...

Okay, I stand corrected. Since I loved both of them, I can't believe I forgot Persepolis and Waltz with Bashir. But I do think Ponyo represents the first time since Howl that a fully animated four-quadrent animated family film has appeared (Curious George is fun, but doesn't quite reach adults in th...

When was the last time there was 2D in theaters?

I am about to go see Ponyo today and the thought just dawned on me that I don't remember the last time I wet to see a traditionally animated film in theaters (from any studio.) The last one that pops into my head is Howl's Moving Castle way back in 2005. Has there been anything since then which I am...

Okay, really, this is INSANE. $45.99 SRP for the Blu-ray version is highway robbery, even if it includes the DVD and digital copy. (For that matter, why are the DVD and digital copy on seperate discs? They could easily be put on the same disc and the digital copy download option appear when the DVD ...

I wonder why Disney hasn't discontinued the prior DVD? They are both listed as in stock at Amazon for the same SRP and same discounted price point, so having two versions in print doesn't make much sense.

My copy just shipped from Amazon -- but half of me won't believe it is finally coming out until I hold it in my hands. I can't wait to dig into those bonus features.

I was hesitant to rebuy this because I'm sure I'll get the Blu-ray release down the line when it comes out, but Luke's review sold me on it now. I can't waiit to see all of that documentary stuff, especially because this got the shaft in its original release. When the two-disc set srrives from Amazo...

Plus, A Bug's Life is still supporting the theatrical release of Up, so your argument of it not having a connection to a theatrically-released film doesn't work. Yes, it's not directed by Pete Doctor, but it's still a Pixar film supporting another Pixar film. And really, who cares about the politics...

The main page says Disney has delayed Monsters, Inc. (but A Bug's Life is still coming on the 19th.) This makes sense to me - Monsters has greater sales potential than the oft-underpromoted Bug's Life and I am guessing they want to bow it during the forth quarter, alongside the Blu-ray release of Up...

Nice to have these announced. I am surprised they are both coming in the spring though -- I thought for sure they would tie one into the DVD release of Up. Since Nemo was mentionedd for Blu-ray release this eyar too a while back, perhaps that will come with Up...or maybe it was delayed again and Up ...

Okay, my ratio mistake... And what burns me about Hunchback is that it is just sitting there. They originally announced it as coming in single and double-disc configurations similtaneously but pulled down the specs for the 2-disc version a couple of hours later. I think most of the laserdisc materia...

This is a very pleasant surprise. I would be thrilled with a vanilla reissue of the original disc but with anamorphic enhancement - the inclusion of any extras is an even bigger treat. This was wonderfully shot and I can't wait to watch it in 2.35:1 for the first time on my big 16x9 TV. Now who woul...

Personally, I am keeping my old Snow White DVD because it is still the best DVD Disney has ever produced, in my opinion (Aladdin is a close second.) Unless every nook and cranny of the original DVD's suppliments gets carried over, there will still be significant value in having the old one. Which me...

There is no reason that a Blu-ray player of any make or model should have a problem playing a standard DVD disc. I think you probably just got a defective disc. Try it in another player, and if it still doesn't work, call Disney and they will probably exchange it for you.

I am bummed about this news, and feel that Disney is making a mistake in letting go of a unique franchise which is both family-friendly and fantasy epic, allowing them to satisfy the qualities behind the studio's name and get a tentpole fantasy action picture at the same time. Even something like Pi...
