Re: Moana 2

The only thing I'll say is...I'm scared  The fact that this was supposed to be the Moana sequel series on Disney+ and is suddenly now going to be a feature length movie just for Disney to "course correct" is so concerning since the story might have such a downgrade. It's Megamind 2 a...

Re: Moana 2

The prospect of having 4 years of sequels in the pipeline with Moana 2, Zootopia 2 and Frozen 3 and possibly 4 is just not creatively interesting... at all! Especially not considering that they are doing a live action remake of the original Moana, coming out soon. It just reeks of a total lack of v...

"Damage control"? If only more people went to see non-sequels like Strange World and Wish.

Re: Wish

Julia Michaels Wrote the Theme Song for ‘Wish’ Before the Script Even Existed https://variety.com/2023/artisans/awards/julia-michaels-wrote-wish-theme-song-before-script-existed-1235820323/ This explains a lot. I don't think this is a new thing, even for movies generally considered "good."

Re: Wish

Complaining about lots of Disney references being shown in a movie that's made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company is like complaining about plants being green. What's the point?

Why exactly? It's an original story with fairytale elements, not based on a pre-existing material.
So is Enchanted.

Re: Wish

Then again, critical reaction doesn't seem to indicate financial success. Case in point: The Super Mario Bros Movie , which got mixed reviews, just like Wish did. It turned out to be a major smash hit. Elemental , same situation. It started off weak, then got better as it went along. Elemental was ...

Re: Strange World

And I also don’t understand the anti-villain attitude. Disney’s alway done so well with these kinds of stories. I know the classic villain characters are extremely popular. I even purchased a 2023 Villains calendar for my boyfriend for Christmas. Not every story needs one. "Wish" is going...

Re: Strange World

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Disney needs to diversify the stories they tell. For the past decade every story can be basically narrowed down to a protagonist who lives in a world that is in danger from an unknown danger and has to go on a quest to figure out what is wrong and save th...

As long as they do it like The Jungle Book (2016), and borrow elements from both the original animated movie and its source material, it may turn out good.

Are any of you really all that okay with the movie being in 1080p with SDR, with no 4K UHD release?
