Re: Upcoming WDAS and Pixar release dates
there's sure gonna be a long wait for Frozen 2. Too long I think. I don't think it's going to be a 7 year gap. One of the co-directors, Chris Buck, implied that they've figured out the ending for Frozen 2 and that they're figuring the story to build up to that. I imagine the schedule will be less r...

Upcoming Disney live-action fairy tales
In the midst of Disney reshuffling and dating more of their titles, no one took notice that they have dated several untitled live-action fairy tales: Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action) - December 22, 2017 Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action) - November 2, 2018 Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (L...

Re: Disney's live-action Jungle Book
I thought the trailer, and CGI, looked GOOD! If only Kaa was a guy. I mean, changing a character's sex doesn't make any sense if you keep everything else the same! The jarring contrast of Scarlett Johansson's silky voice coming out of the huge python is intentional and IMO it works. I think they sh...

WB's "Pan" movie
Originally scheduled for summer 2015, Warner Brothers has elected to release their revisionist "Peter Pan" film , Pan , in 2D, 3D and IMAX theaters on October 9, 2015. The synopsis is as follows: "Set during WWII, it follows an orphan who is kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverla...

The BFG (2016)
Disney has come on to co-finance and co-produce the 2016 film alongside DreamWorks and Walden Media, which now makes The BFG a Disney film. The Mouse House already was going to distribute the film under its tertiary deal with DreamWorks under its Touchstone Pictures banner. As production gets underw...

Re: Frozen 2
It should be fun predicting the box office numbers for Frozen 2 once Disney announces the release date. Since "Frozen Fever" came out less than two years after the original, I expect Disney to announce it for one of their following untitled slots: March 9 or November 21. It would be crazy ...

Re: Alan Menken News & Discussion
I had wondered if that description actually means there will be new songs (as in, never before heard) or if they just meant the songs from the musical/not present in the film ("Home," "IICLH," etc.)? Hard to tell, considering the summary never mentions the musical version at all...

Re: Disney to Remake Beauty & the Beast in Live-Action
I was hoping that with Cinderella being released in 2D, that Disney would release the live-action BATB the same way.

Re: Alan Menken News & Discussion
Menken's original Beauty and the Beast score is so beautiful and such a huge part of the movie experience for me, it would be a shame if he/they did not keep what they can of it. Off course some minor alterations and some new material might be needed, but if something is not broken - why fix it?; )...

It might be a mix of both.DisneyFan09 wrote:Wonder if Menken will use the same cues that he already composed from the 1991 version or if he will create a score that is different from it's animated counterpart.

Re: Disney to Remake Beauty & the Beast in Live-Action
The 1991 film is still highly regarded and this being from the actual studio (rather than a rival), families tend to trust Disney's brand more in terms of fairy tale and live-action remakes.

Although since "Frozen Fever" came out this year (less than two years after the first), I guess a three year gap isn't too long if Disney aims for a 2018 release.

Walt Disney Pictures has announced today that Alan Menken will be providing the score for the upcoming live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Re: Disney to Remake Beauty & the Beast in Live-Action
I hope Emma remains with her own accent; it will enable her to be more comfortable in the role I think. Plus, Paige was picked for her more 'European' sounding voice as they were going to get Jodi Benson to fulfil the role. The fact that the production is based in the UK makes me think they're goin...

Yeah, you see it pretty much all the time. I don't think it's particularly embarrassing for them. It's big news for them, and most people will forget they ever denied it. Isn't the November 2017 slot reserved for a Pixar movie? Though I suppose they have a lot of wiggle room between the dates reser...

Re: Frozen 2
Well, well, well. Would you look at that? After all that vehement denial, this is really embarrassing for Disney. Even as we speak there are interviews of Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee coming out denying that there is a sequel planned. It's common for people in Hollywood to do that. They...
