DisneyChris meant, that this shot belongs in the Special Edition, but is part of both versions in this new Diamond Edition. That sucks then, i was so happy with the restored Cogsworth animation in the Theatrical Edition... Does anyone know whether Belle's window reflection appears in the Theatrical...

there's one shot in the "Original Theatrical Version" on this new Diamond Edition that's actually a revised shot from the "Special Edition". Ironically the "Original Theatrical Version" on the Platinum Edition DVD retained the original shot... Excuse me, but that's a s...

As a start, an indication of what the restoration might be like: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18826&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 C = PINOCCHIO 2003 UK DVD [Lowry restoration released overseas but not in the US] I'm hoping for a better restoration though, and le...

Thanks so much, looks great! Apart from the compression artefacts, guess we'll have to wait for the blu-ray to fix that, eventually..

Does it also have the original mono audiotrack?

These are comparison shots from the previously mentioned Dutch review of the new platinum edition, with the old SE release. Note that all screenshots are from the PAL dvd, but the used transfers for those dvds are exactly the same as their American dvds. props to dvd.nl! shot1 - Special Edition shot...

Amazing how cold and boring the colors look in the SE release.. Nothing I didn't know before, but these screenshots really show it. Especially skintones are very often off on the SE dvd, sometimes even being white or grey...

It might be that the supposedly new commentary could not be a new commentary at all... it is very early for a (german) web site to have any of these new details (apart from press info or "interviews" with the people responsible for the dvd like in the preview of IGN.com) I'd prefer the old...

Indeed my friend, as in the rest of Europe, France has PAL Region 2 DVDs. But the quality is only better than the US DVDs. There are (they have always been) more frames per second in PAL than in NTSC which, among other reasons, results in a clearer, crisper image quality on DVDs. I have both Region...

Hehe, just had to reply to this thread to clear up some things. - tttt has an region 2 LM, with a PAL video encoding, and therefor the video quality can never be 100% the same as the NTSC (region 1) dvd. Sometimes the quality will be better, sometimes worse, and sometimes very comparable. In the cas...

Why should it be better. Just because of PAL? Pal has more lines and therfore obviously a higher resolution... And before this was reason enought for the R2 transfer to be a tat better, The Incredibles, Bambi, Aladdin ect. Only sometimes the R2 image is better, in many other cases the R1 image is b...

But you don't need that special decoder to see them? They're just like normal subtitles like on the Muppets Season 1 Set? A special decoder? You need a dvd decoder (whether it be software or hardware) to play the dvd... and you can turn the subtitles on or off, so they are not burned-in the actual ...
