A forum member warned me I might want to look at the aftermath of my post. I'm not so glad that I did... Now I have come back for what I promise will be my very last post, and last visit to the site...period. I am disappointed in the way that people have reacted to what was a simple feedback/critics...

I myself once ran a website that reviewed DVD's called thebiggerpicture.com from 1997-2000. I know what it takes to put stuff into a website. I have reviewed several movies and I still receive screener DVD's early of many titles. I am fully aware that Disney usually cuts it fairly close on it's titl...

I used to love this site. My problem is when there IS a new title like the Aristocats, we don't have a review by it's release date. Instead we have reviews of 10 other titles that I could read a review of elsewhere. There are hundreds of DVD websites out there, I only came to this one becuase of it'...

I think that you guys don't get it. When you compare a crappy 4-5th generation print that was transferred to Laserdisc, DVD or VHS, the colors are altered due to the mastering methods of the time. If the same print used for the 1992 release was transferred to DVD right now, it would look different t...

The 2007 DVD is not Over-Saturated. The 1999 Release was GROSSLY under-saturated, as were restorations of the time for Mary Poppins and Peter Pan. Making a comparison to previous releases on DVD or laserdisc, doesn't tell you which one is correct. It just shows Differences. However, I guarantee you ...

;drsd2kill; I am TOTALLY in agreement with you. The framing might be awkward at times, but -It utilizes the higher resolution by being 16x9 -It adds more information to the sides than has ever been presented before. -The restoration is breathtaking. -It preserves the way it was projected at the time...

I think I actually disagree with quite a few of you guys...but hey we're all entitled to our own opinions, right? I actually prefer the Jungle Book in 1.75:1. I think the restoration of the film is easily the best restoration on any Disney film up until this point. I also think that for once I actua...

Step 1: Rip the audio track from a DVD using freeware called SmartRipper. Step 2: Convert the ac3 file to 5.1 wav (6 channel PCM) using freeware called ac3tool Step 3: Bring it into a video editing program such as pro tools, Garage Band or Adobe Premiere as 6 mono channel tracks. Then mix the channe...

The Fox and the Hound was presented in 1.33:1 when it was re-released theatrically in 1988. I remember it specifically, and I also remember wondering why the film was being projected at that aspect ratio! They just pulled the theater's curtains in. But that was the way it was projected. Hopefully th...

I am extremely pleased with my Robin Hood DVD. I already had purchased the Gold Collection DVD upon it's release, and was not displeased with it then. However, now I have the film in both animated aspect ratios. I found the Gold Collection transfer to be respectable. The Most Wanted edition IS an im...

iTunes Poll + Homeward Bound I in Widescreen on iTunes!
I downloaded Homeward Bound today on iTunes , and was surprised that the film was actually in Widescreen, and appears to be a much better transfer than the horrible fullscreen release as well. It appears that it is minted from a nicer print. It's nice to have the film in it's original aspect ratio f...

Nightmare is being shown in Disney Digital 3-D. This is not IMAX, and CANNOT BE SHOWN IN IMAX. It is not printed on IMAX FILM. In fact it is not being printed at all. Disney Digital 3-D is a process that is shown using an Ultra-High-Definition film projector manufactured by Texas Instruments under t...
