If Snow White was in the public domain Disney would have to work hard to ensure their copy was the copy everyone wanted. It would only benefit the consumer. I'll tell you this, if Snow White was Public Domain, you'd have gotten most of the Blu-ray bonus feartures on this years 2 disc DVD release......

I've finally managed to finish working through Chronological Donald 4. I must say it is splendid not only to see one of my favourite moments in Disney shorts presented in a nice clean digital remaster, but also that it has got through intact without being vaulted or cut to keep the soccer moms happy...

Have you even seen the Blu-ray Sleeping Beauty on an 1080p display? No. Does it make the plot less tedious? (I know this is a cheap shot, but it's true: recently I sat down to watch Sleeping Beauty for the first time and I was asleep before Aurora was). :D Surely its worth paying 20%-25% more for: ...

Blu ray HAS caught on It's making up less than 2% of sales in Britain, France and Australian, and only 5% of the US market, according to a recent article in The Age . But more telling is the large number of titles that are still being released on DVD only, particularly TV titles. Unless we start se...

Re: What do you all think? (About DVD and Blu-ray)
1-How many standard DVD's do you own? I shudder to think - but the shelves are beginning to dominate the livingroom somewhat! 2-Would you be willing to part with your standard DVD's when the BD (Blu-Ray Disc) versions come out? The likelihood of much of what I've got on DVD coming out on Blu is pre...

Finally, I'm aware that back in 2006 Disney offered to replace people's discs of this set because of (if I recall) incorrect title cards. Can one still have his/her discs replaced if they live in Europe? Yes you can. Go here: http://studio.go.com/cgi-bin/gmail/generic_mail.cgi?template=video/dvd_re...

I don't want to beat a dead horse to death, but both Escapay and Ichabod are losing sight of what is going on here. Recomposition is taking a full 16x9 frame and through a squeezing technique they call recompositing they are giving the semblance of a 4:3 picture. It's not doing anything with the 16...

I'm interested to know more about these friends of Guy's. If they're friends, why would be be willing to sacrifice them to be the top dog? Why does he crave the popularity - what will it bring him? Why is he stuck watching movies at home alone if he's got friends anyway? Rather than having becoming ...

Of course, we could both be wrong since 1934 is when the features division of the studio started and that's what Neal was probably going for. :P Was there a separate features division in the 1930s? I've always had the impression the studio was all of a piece at the time, and the dividing up of the ...

I find it odd that it's considered a Mickey short when he's in it for such a short amount of time :? During most of the 1930s, there were only two Disney animated series: Mickey Mouse (with the regular gang of characters) and Silly Symphonies (for one-offs). As the gang developed, there were occasi...

I'd quite like to see some of the Von Drake etc Wonderful World Of Colour shows released on DVD, but not as part of the Treasures series. Given the use of already released animated shorts in those shows, putting them under another line might reduce the impression of double dipping. Ah, those shows w...

Instead of remaking the entire DVD because of a 5 second cut, why not just issue a DVD and send them out in a little paper sleeve to anyone who really wants it? If the ending isn't imporatant to you, you wouldn't have to order one. The only thing that would have to be on the disc is that short. It ...
