I don't even think Big Hero 6 needs to have a similar reception to Lego Movie or HTTYD 2. I think it could still win the Oscars with a 70%-80% tomatometer score range. As Brave showed us two years ago, brand name is stronger than critical reception.

I still wonder how Big Hero 6 is going to perform opening weekend since it's going head to head with Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. I think a reasonable expectation would be like $50 million, which is basically what Wreck It Ralph performed in its opening weekend.

It's hard for sequels to win in this category, no matter how well received it is. Yes, Toy Story 3 is the one exception, but that was nominated for Best Picture. Also can we finally put to rest that Honey Lemon looks too much like Rapunzel? I mean we did the same thing with Anna last year (myself included when I saw the first leaked photo). This time, we should just like it play out.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how well Pixar is at hiring actors to voice their characters. I really like that when whenever the movie has a kid character, they actually find a kid to voice the character instead of an adult.
