Herbie Rides Again - May 4 Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo - May 4 Herbie Goes Bananas - May 4

March 15, 2004 - Cover artwork has been released, but still no details, for May 4's Region 1 DVD debuts of the three Love Bug sequels: Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, and Herbie Goes Bananas. Check out Upcoming Cover Art for the full-sized images.

March 14, 2004 - Freaky Friday (2003) is 47% off at CircuitCity.com this week, on sale for just $15.99. (Read our recent review of the film here.)

Today's new reviews are of Disney's 1981 animated classic The Fox and the Hound and the 2003 television movie Sounder.

March 13, 2004 - Generally, it's rare to find sequels to films that are more than 10 years old. With Disney, that's not the case. Today's two new DVD reviews cover sequels made several decades after the originals - The Jungle Book 2 and the direct-to-video feature Cinderella II: Dreams Come True.

March 12, 2004 - Two of Disney's most beloved classics, released to DVD over 4 years ago in less-than-stellar fashion, are the subjects of today's DVD reviews. Discontinued and now elusive gems of used DVD markets and probably as illegally distributed as any other DVD titles. Check out our reviews of the Limited Issue DVDs of The Little Mermaid and The Jungle Book.

March 11, 2004 - Our 80th DVD review is now up: Freaky Friday (2003). So is our 81st, which is the 1981 Paramount/Disney co-production, Dragonslayer.

The 2-disc Special Edition of Miracle is now up for pre-order at Amazon.com for 30% off.

We've put together some screencaps of menus and bonus features from the Home on the Range: Little Patch of Heaven Sing Along Songs DVD, in stores March 23. See them here.

Preorder Miracle (2-Disc Widescreen Special Edition) from Amazon.com

March 10, 2004 - Well, that was quick. Disney has already issued a release date and cover art for last month's theatrical release Miracle. This drama about the 1980 United States Olympic hockey team will be released in separate widescreen and fullscreen editions, each release a 2-disc set. Disc One will contain the documentary "The Making of Miracle" and an audio commentary from director Gavin O'Connor, Editor John Gilroy, and director of photography Daniel Stoloff. Disc Two provides "First Impressions: Herb Brooks" with Kurt Russell and filmmakers, "From Hockey to Hollywood: The Actors' Journey" featurette, "The Sound of Miracle" behind-the-scenes featurette, outtakes, and the ESPN Miracle roundtable special with Linda Cohn, Kurt Russell, and real team members Mike Eruzione, Buzz Schneider, and Jim Craig. The THX-Certified DVD presents the film in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1, with a French track and the THX Optimizer tests. Check out Upcoming Cover Art for a large image of the cover.

March 9, 2004 - We're unveiling a brand new section today, Coming to Theaters, which offers a preview at Disney films that will be coming to theaters in the near future. Currently, there are six films profiled: Home on the Range, Around the World in 80 Days, The Princess Diaries 2, The Incredibles, The Shaggy Dog, and The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. This new section will be regularly updated.

Plus, we've got two new fantastic DVD reviews of two of the best two-disc sets featuring two of the best films in recent years. Jack Seiley reviews Finding Nemo and Kelvin Cedeno tackles Tarzan: Collector's Edition.

March 7, 2004 - Recently released to the general public, the 2001 documentary Walt: The Man Behind the Myth is the subject of our latest DVD review. We also review Disney's 2-disc Special Edition of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Also what started out as a new installment of our oft-overlooked DIScussions (a series of critical essays on various Disney films) turned into a massive guide to Winnie the Pooh We've affectionately dubbed this new section by Richard Gray The Ultimate Guide to Pooh. It includes background, an essay on the classic Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and a thorough Pooh-ography of films and specials involving the Hundred Acre Wood gang.

Three Musketeers - August 17 The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (2-Disc Special Edition) - August 31 Aladdin: Platinum Edition - October 5

March 5, 2004 - Large cover art for Aladdin, The Lion King II and Three Musketeers has been added to Upcoming Cover Art.

Last week, Dickie Jones turned 77. While he's certainly no longer a little boy, it is he who voiced one of the most famous youths in the history of cinema: Pinocchio. Disney's second animated classic is the subject of Jake Lipson's DVD review, our site's 75th total review overall.

March 4, 2004 - Today, we launch a new contest, the site's fourth, and a chance for you to possibly win the Disney DVD of your choice. Check it out!

Our latest review is of Tuesday's DVD debut of The Gnome-Mobile.

The Great Locomotive Chase - May 4 Son of Flubber - April 6 Ghosts of the Abyss - April 27

We've added new full-sized cover art for some of this spring's DVD debuts: The Great Locomotive Chase, Son of Flubber, Ghosts of the Abyss, The Haunted Mansion, Miracle in Lane 2, Now You See Him, Now You Don't, Angels in the Endzone, and Angels in the Infield. Check out these and more in our Upcoming Disney DVD Cover Art gallery.

At yesterday's annual Disney shareholders conference, it was confirmed that Bambi will be next March's Platinum Edition DVD release. We've updated the Complete Upcoming Release Schedule, Release Types Explained, and Frequently Asked Questions with this information.

March 3, 2004 - Two new DVD reviews today - The Moon-Spinners kicks off our half-week-long salute to hyphenated movies. This mystery starring Hayley Mills and Eli Wallach is one of Disney's finest films of the decade, unfortunately the DVD isn't as commendable. Then, Jack Seiley tackles another animated classic, with a review of Robin Hood's Gold Collection disc.
