February 15, 2004 - Two new reviews today: the recently-released Follow Me, Boys! starring Fred MacMurray, and the out-of-print Special Edition Peter Pan DVD.
February 13, 2004 - Today's entry in the Top Live Action Disney Film Countdown stars a Volkswagen that everyone seems to love. It's The Love Bug at #11, which one reader points out, is appropriate to highlight the day before Valentine's Day.
We've completed that review of Treasure Island (1950).
Now available for pre-order at Amazon.com: Davy Crockett: 50th Anniversary Set, which is said to include both theatrical films - Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier and Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. Release date is September 7, and at 30% off, it is just $13.99. Also on September 7, Disney releases their own DVDs of One Little Indian (1974), starring James Garner, The Last Flight of Noah's Ark (1980) with Elliot Gould, Never Cry Wolf (1983), and the underappreciated holiday gem One Magic Christmas (1985). The same day, Squanto: A Warrior's Tale (1994) makes its DVD debut. More exciting is the DVD debut of '80s TV movie Tiger Town starring Roy Scheider!
Plus, there are the following additions to Disney's catalogue slate for July 6: the 1961 live action film Greyfriars Bobby, Never a Dull Moment (1968) starring Dick Van Dyke, Hot Lead and Cold Feet (1978), No Deposit, No Return (1976), and the 1999 made-for-TV film Balloon Farm all make their DVD debuts. Meanwhile, the same day, Disney will issue their own discs of previous Anchor Bay releases The Cat from Outer Space (1979), North Avenue Irregulars (1979), Charlie the Lonesome Cougar (1967), and Napoleon and Samantha (1972) which marks early film appearances for both Michael Douglas and Jodie Foster.
Added to August 3 is still more Disney re-releases of previous Anchor Bay DVD titles: Unidentified Flying Oddball (1979), The Watcher in the Woods (1981), and Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983). Also, the Wonderful World of Disney TV movie Oliver Twist (1997), starring Elijah Wood and Richard Dreyfuss (previously a European exclusive) bows on Region 1.

February 12, 2004 - The Top Live Action Disney Film Countdown coasts on with The Muppet Christmas Carol at #12.

February 11, 2004 - Amazon.com now has Aladdin: Platinum Edition and Aladdin: Collector's Gift Set up for pre-order, both at 30% off!
In fact, they've added pretty much Disney's entire catalogue slate, through September, all at 30% off. June's releases include Freaky Friday (1977), Candleshoe (1978), A Far Off Place, The Happiest Millionaire (Roadshow Cut), and the long-awaited Flight of the Navigator (1986).
July brings The Three Lives of Thomasina, The Ugly Dachshund, and The One and Only, Genuine Original Family Band.
August's highlights include The Lion King II: Simba's Pride - 2-Disc Special Edition, Mickey, Donald and Goofy in The Three Musketeers, Darby O'Gill and the Little People, Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow, The Shaggy Dog: 45th Anniversary Edition, The Shaggy D.A., "Boy Meets World": Season 1, and The Black Hole.
September marks the launch of the Disney Princess line of DVDs, with a trio of releases: Disney Princess Sing Along Songs, Disney Princess Stories, and Disney's Princess Party. Plus, The Island at the Top of the World: 30th Anniversary, Matt Dillon and the Mighty Duck Man himself, Emilio Estevez, in Tex. February 10, 2004 - The complete Aladdin DVD press release has been posted!
Some new titles announced and new specs as well, for June's catalogue slate. The original Freaky Friday will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. Special features are expected, but not yet announced. The same day, June 1, Disney will release Flight of the Navigator, A Far Off Place, and the Wonderful World of Disney TV movie A Saintly Switch. In addition, Disney will issue their own discs of previous Anchor Bay releases Candleshoe and The Happiest Millionaire (extended Roadshow Cut). No details on those yet, other than $19.99 SRP pricetags. The Complete Upcoming Disney DVD Release Schedule has been updated accordingly.

Disney has announced temporary price reductions for select DVD titles this summer, effective June 1.
February 9, 2004 - Live Action Countdown continues with the highest-ranking film from the '80s, the fantasy/adventure Honey, I Shrunk the Kids at #15.
February 7, 2004 - A great deal of information on upcoming 2004 Disney DVD releases has just been dropped...read the whole thing here.
Some highlights: "Boy Meets World" Season 1 has been pushed back to August, but will now be a 6-disc collector's set (SRP $49.99, instead) with many bonus features! The Lion King II Special Edition re-release in also due in August, and will be a 2-disc set. A Collector's Gift Set of Aladdin will be offered, like last year's Lion King DVD release, with the same SRP of $49.99.
Long-anticipated DVD debuts include the original Freaky Friday in June, The Ugly Dachshund and The Three Lives of Thomasina in July, and Darby O' Gill and the Little People, The Shaggy Dog, and Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow in August.

February 6, 2004 - Live Action Countdown continues with another popular recent film, The Princess Diaries at #16. Check back Monday for #15 and stick with us all week to countdown to #11!
We're just churning out reviews now...Disney's little-known 1986 animated feature, The Great Mouse Detective, is the subject of the site's new DVD review.
Finally, though the release is eight months away, Disney is already trumpeting up the long-awaited 2-disc Platinum Edition DVD of Aladdin. "More than 20% of the original artwork has been enhanced" and they're adding a new song, "Proud to Be Your Boy." And Disney thinks that's...good news? Yahoo! News has the full story from Variety.
February 5, 2004 - Kelvin Cedeno revisits Alice in Wonderland in a new, detailed DVD review of the newly-released 2-disc Masterpiece Edition, comparing the new set to the Gold Collection DVD already reviewed and the film's deluxe laserdisc release.

February 3, 2004 - Today marks the most Disney DVD releases in a single day in five months. Having trouble finding the nine new Disney DVDs in stores? Why not order online?
The packaging for Disney's Return to Oz DVD release today states that the film is enhanced for 16 x 9 televisions, which contradicts earlier information Disney released. Of course, with these titles not showing up, we'll have to wait and see.
Answering requests for a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Platinum Edition DVD review, the talented Jack Seiley steps up to the plate and delivers this, UltimateDisney's 49th review.
And of course, our Live Action Disney Movie Countdown proceeds with the popular 2000 film Remember the Titans at #19.

February 1, 2004 - MickeyMouseBoy has put together one of the first reviews of The Lion King 1 1/2, as well as captures from the disc's previews of The Lion King II: Special Edition, Aladdin, and this summer's The Three Musketeers starring Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy.
